Remove liquidity

This guide will walk you through the process of removing liquidity from a pool on our platform. When you remove liquidity, you are withdrawing your share of the tokens from the pool and, in return, burning your pool tokens (LP tokens).

Accessing the Remove Liquidity Page

Typically, you can access the "Remove Liquidity" page for a specific pool from a list of your current liquidity positions or directly via a link that includes the Pool ID.

Understanding the Interface

The "Remove Liquidity" page displays several key pieces of information and provides controls to specify how much liquidity you wish to remove.

Pool Information

  • Pool Type & Fee Tier: At the top, you'll see the pair of tokens in the pool (e.g., APT/USDC) and potentially the fee tier associated with this pool. The images (icons) for each token are also displayed.

Your Liquidity Details

  • Pool Tokens Balance: This shows the total number of LP tokens you currently hold for this specific pool.

Share Information

  • Current Share of Index: This is your current percentage ownership of the total liquidity in the pool. It's calculated as (Your Pool Tokens / Total Pool Tokens in Pool) * 100%.

Removing Liquidity

  • Remove Liquidity Button: Once you click this button:

    • Transaction Confirmation: Your connected wallet will prompt you to confirm the transaction.

    • Disabled Button: The button will be disabled since you no longer have this position.

Step-by-Step Guide to Removing Liquidity

  1. Connect Your Wallet: Ensure your wallet (e.g., Petra, Martian) is connected to the platform. The page will need your account information to fetch your share of the pool.

  2. Navigate to the "Portfolio" page.

  3. Select the position you would like to remove: Click on the position you want to remove on the Portfolio page.

  4. Click "Remove Liquidity" Button

  5. Confirm and Submit:

    • Your wallet will pop up asking for transaction approval. Review the details in your wallet and confirm.

  6. Transaction Completion: Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, your liquidity will be removed, the specified NFT will be burned, and the corresponding pool tokens will be transferred to your wallet. You will typically be redirected or can navigate back to your "Portfolio" page.

Important Considerations

  • Slippage: While the displayed amounts are estimates, the actual amounts you receive might vary slightly due to price changes (slippage) between the time you see the estimate and when your transaction is processed on the blockchain.

  • Transaction Fees: Removing liquidity involves a blockchain transaction, which will incur network fees.

  • Impermanent Loss: Be aware of the concept of impermanent loss when providing or removing liquidity. The value of your withdrawn tokens compared to holding them separately can vary based on price movements.

By following these steps, you can successfully remove your liquidity from a pool. Always double-check the details before confirming any transaction.
